Super Golden is a new recurring column highlighting standout performances from joshi wrestlers. It will feature shining stars from across the joshi scene—STARDOM, Sendai Girls, and beyond. The nominees could be big names or up-and-comers. Whoever puts their mark on the month.
Miku Kanae (Freelance)
What a year it’s been for Miku Kanae so far. In a breakout 2026, she’s been one of the best freelancers in the business, and her production in June was further proof of that.
Early in the month, she teamed with Rina in a tag match against Chihiro Hashimoto and MIRAI at the T-HEARTS Yumiko Hotta anniversary show. This turned out to be an intense fight where all four women looked like beasts. Miku was a bonafide ass kicker here, shining alongside Rina. She showed off her big-time skills as a babyface. Her heart is a centerpiece of this banger.
Kanae also made an impression at the Sendai Girls June 7 show at Shinjuku FACE. She and
Spike Nishimura battled Senka Akatsuki and Yura Suzuki in an entertaining clash. Frustrated Miku was fun to watch here. Her animosity with Senka crackles throughout the bout.
That bad blood was clear and present when Miku challenged Senka for the Sendai Girls Junior Championship a week later.
In the semi main event of Sendai Girls’ June 13 PIT show, Senka and Miku smashed each other into the mat with some hugely satisfying violence. The rest of the match was ripe with struggle. Senka was unrelenting while Miku was gutsy as hell.
It’s not a title bout I’ve heard a lot of people talk about which is surprising because of how good it is. It’s in prime position to end up on my under-the-radar great matches of the year list.
All of that is plenty of standout work to earn some acclaim, but Miku also added two Catch the Wave tournament matches and a Future of Stardom Championship match against Ranna Yagami. That title match showed off both how strong and smooth Miku is.
Lots of terrific stuff to choose from with her this month.
Yuki Kamifuku (TJPW)
Kamiyu really is going to retire at the top of her game. In the same month that she announced she’s going to leave wrestling in December, Kamifuku was putting in some of the best work of her career.
She kicked off June by being a fun part of a wild staggered entry Battle Royal in DDT. In a match that also featured Hyper Misao, Yuki brought a sassy, charged energy to the action. She won the whole thing too after beheading Pokotan.
When TJPW announced that Kamiyu would challenge Yuki Arai for the Princess of Princess Championship at Stand Alone, a lot of critics rolled their eyes. You were putting two non-ring generals into a big spot that some didn’t think either could handle.
Well, Kamiyu vs. Arai exceeded expectations. It was an engaging battle with boots hitting faces time and again. Champion and challenge clicked. Kamifuku stepped up to the plate and played her part well.
On the 13th at Next Door in Yokohama, Kamifuku took on Shion Kanzaki in a short, effective match. The long-legged warrior was playful and cocky, giving the newbie a strong counterpart to work with.
A solid June for an oft-underappreciated star. Expect Kamifuku to shine a good bit more as she gets added spotlight on her road to retirement.
Hazuki (Stardom)
A lot of new people saw what Hazuki is all about, and that’s a beautiful thing.
The STARDOM star ventured to Texas to appear on AEW Dynamite, battling Mercedes Mone in the semi-finals of the Owen Hart Tournament. This was a huge chance for Hazuki to show off her skills and represent joshi wrestling. And she sure came through on both fronts.
She and Mone had an exciting match, one that got the AEW fans chanting Hazuki’s name. Her athleticism popped on the screen. At one point, she hit a trio of suicide dives, equally graceful and powerful while she was on the attack.
That followed up an Owen Hart quarterfinal match against Persephone that got a four-star rating from Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Just a few days before that showdown with Mercedes, Hazuki teamed with Koguma to challenge AZM and Miyu Amasaki for the Goddess of Stardom Championship. This match was fun, fast, and flowed well. The times Hazuki and AZM collided were especially electric including a brief slugfest on the top rope.
Top that off with a solid tag match between FWC and Anne Kanaya with Aya Sakura on June 27. This had some good energy and some splashes of comedy.
Not only was Hazuki excelling in the ring, she was doing so after traveling back and forth from Japan. On the 6th, she was wrestling in Ohio. Then she was at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo on the 14th before turning around to wrestle in Texas three days after that. Then back to Japan for Stardom the Conversion.
A busy, successful stretch for Wild Heart. A sight we love to see.
Honori Hana (SEAdLINNNG)
While she didn’t have as many matches this month as many of her peers, Honori Hana hit us with bouts that made a sizeable impact.
The most notable of these was her attempt to claim the Beyond the Sea Championship from Ayame Sasamura. These two butted heads at SEAdLINNNG Early Games and tore the house down.
This was a beautifully fierce match. It started with Honori just blasting Ayame with forearms against the ropes. The challenger came hard at the champ and was somehow both frenzied and poised.
Hana captivated both when she was on offense and laying into Sasamura and when she was in peril, anguish shaping her face in front of us. What a hard-hitting match and what a performance from the SEAdLINNNG star.
Honori also appeared on the Unagi Sayaka produce show on June 21 where she and Azusa Inaba took on Rina Yamashita and Ryo Mizunami.
This is a solid match that hits its high points when things get most brutal. And you can thank Honori for a lot of that. She brought plenty of ferocity here, especially when she went up against Mizunami. She looked like a bulldozer in there at times.
Hana’s only other match (at least judging from what’s listed on CageMatch) was a one-on-one clash with Mei Suruga at ChocoPro 531. ChocoPro has yet to release the footage of that show just yet, but I would put good money down on the fact that this was an excellent match and that Honori showed out. She did it all month and has been rolling all year.
