Shin-Kiba 1st Ring was the site of ACTwrestling Step 62 which saw a special idol performance from Lucky C’mon, Chii Aoba face off against Rio, Midsummer Seabreeze in tag action taking on Asako and Yukina Uehara, Nene vs. Anri, and the main event was a six-person tag of Killer’z vs. Actress5 with ACT, MARU, and Mari taking on Marino Saihara, Naru, and Sakura Mizushima.

On August 23rd, Actwres girl’Z performed at the Fukuro Suwa Shrine Annual Festival. They did a series of musical dance pieces such as “Act Fantasy” which is something that helps them stand out from many other organizations. To quote the official AWG YouTube page, “What is Actwres girl’Z?”

“We are a group of actresses specializing in sports entertainment, including wrestling match-style performances, plays incorporating wrestling moves into action scenes, live performances, and photo shoots. They sing, dance, and fight!”

You can watch the performance here:

Chii Aoba vs. Rio

Rio, even as a rookie, is becoming a force that the roster has to survive more than beat. She is close enough in size to be this era’s Ami Sohrei or Himeka and is starting to figure out she has a size and strength advantage on the majority of the locker room. Chii is a very good babyface and, much like Nagisa, has a good set of moves and is very smooth with the fundamentals. In this match, however, anytime Chii would go for submissions, Rio could power out, and any series of offense would be cut off with one big shoulder block from Rio. Chii did manage to ground the big rookie and tapped her out with a side arm hold.

Chii has some momentum these days, getting some wins and bigger opportunities. On the subject of her recent exploits, you can see Chii participate in UWF teaming with Riko against Marino and Yukina on October 9th at Korakuen Hall; you can watch the action on Lidet’s official YouTube channel or see updates on X

Nagisa Shiotsuki & Natsuki vs. Asako Mia & Yukina Uehara

Mid Summer Sea Breeze was back together after Natsuki had a recent run tagging with Yukina. Asako and the aforementioned Yukina were determined to make things difficult for the Sea Breeze as the summer season came to a close.

This was the textbook AWG tag match that always delivers; if you are the type of viewer who mainly tunes into a card for exciting and technically great wrestling, then this is a must-watch. One of the main reasons is because Asako once again proved how good she really is and that she is able to do a lot more than insane comedy. She is fantastic at comedy, but when she is fighting as Asako Mia, she is the perfect underdog. Yukina was once impressed and is starting to add more moves while also chaining together stuff into flashy lucha-style sequences. Nagisa and Natsuki are brilliant in tag matches; Natsuki has such a presence as the Ace, and Nagisa does some of her best work when fighting beside her. Hot tags, tandem moves, suspenseful last-second saves, and modern tag wrestling at its best.

Natsuki and Nagisa even leaned into being mischievous, as they slightly underestimated the Super Human Asako Army early on but quickly realized they were going to have to bring it. Natsuki grabbed Yukina for the Cutie Special to pick up the hard-fought victory. Recommended.

The show had a musical performance by idol group Lucky C’mon, and Riko and Marino joined them for a rendition of Act Fantasy. The group consisted of members in their 50’s, and their energy fit in well with the atmosphere of AWG.

Nene Arahata vs. ANRI

Nene was just mean in this bout and lived up to being a member of Killer’Z. ANRI is able to endure a lot of punishment which is one of her strengths. She was utilizing her kicks very well, but Nene would answer back and bludgeon her. That was the story here; the fiery ANRI was up against the cool Nene, who was trying to beat the flame out of the less experienced ANRI.

Nene was literally stomping on ANRI before executing a delayed brainbuster for the win. A nice match to build up Nene and showcase the heart of ANRI.

ACT, Mari & MARU vs. Marino Saihara, Naru & Sakura Mizushima

The final match here was the epic brawling main event style that is a signature of the AWG faction warfare and featured all the champions in the ring at once.

Riko and Yui, while not officially in the match, did both get involved. Mizushima shined brightly against the veterans, especially ACT, whom she has a long history with. ACT, MARU, and Mari had no problem breaking every rule and using the chain to punish the babyface Actress5 team. Marino, who is a real-life superhero, is tailor-made for storylines about overcoming insurmountable odds. She definitely had that as she was trying to best Mari and wanted to get a win over the Killer’Z. Towards the end, the ring was chaotic and full of bodies as both sides were desperate for the win; once the dust settled, Marino and the other Actress5 crew were able to get Mari up for a big suplex.

Marino finished off the battle with the MRN Smash German suplex and avenged her loss. Another recommended match.

Marino is now one and one with Mari. Yui officially left the Actress5 but did not commit to joining Killer’Z. Trainee Kana Yafuku stated she would like to be the new fifth member of the 5. She will make her debut on October 1st alongside Yukina as they take on the returning SPiCEAP, aka Tae Honma and Maika Ozaki. Big developments as the autumn season takes over from the exciting summer run AWG had. Mid Summer Sea Breeze are setting their sights on ACT and MARI, so the tag title scene is lively.

A noteworthy show from Shinkiba that is about an hour and a half long, so worth checking out. Follow the whole roster and all the exciting developments by following AWG on X and checking out their fun videos on TikTok.
