May was another big month of wonderful joshi puroresu with each of the companies putting on great efforts to entertain their audience from around the world. The biggest event of the month was no doubt, Marigold’s Shine Forever, an event that involved Marigold’s biggest free agent signing to date picking up their first title in the promotion, and the retirement of a legendary figure in the business for both good and bad Nanae Takahashi.
STARDOM ran a lot of events during the month, but even with a couple of good Korakuens they’ve felt a bit off compared to where they were before their big PPV at the end of April. Still though, the wrestlers on the shows didn’t take nights off, and instead put forth their full effort each time they stepped foot inside of the ring. Both Saya Kamitani and Starlight Kid defended their titles against challengers who most saw as beneath the titles, but still made a good match out of it that had at least a little bit of drama when it was all said and done.
The awesome indie federations all around Japan also continued to put on fun and exciting shows to entertain their audiences, and honestly some of the most fun shows to watch are the ones that come outside of the big three companies. There is also always championships changing hands regularly throughout those companies with awesome freelancers picking them up as they make appearances on a variety of shows. All in all, the joshi scene is in a great place, so now, let’s talk about the fantasy league.
This month made things a lot more interesting when it comes to the standings both at the top and in the middle with a few teams trading places. The strength of having have quite a few STARDOM wrestlers pushed some teams a bit higher than usual because of how many events they ran during the month, and if you had that mixed with quite a few freelancers or members of Marigold, that made for a damn good month. That even helped one team in particular score the most points in a month so far this year to help them get right back into the thick of things!
This month there were two wrestlers who tied for the top spot for most points scored in a single month with 39. Those two wrestlers were none other than Azusa Inaba and Kaori Yoneyama, both showing that being a regular in STARDOM on top of working indie events really helps get those point totals up. They also both tied for the highest amount of points scored in a single month so far this year with Hikari Shimizu’s amazing output in the month of February. Behind Azusa and Yoneyama was SAKI who scored a very impressive 37 points. The other two wrestlers who eclipsed the 30 points mark were AZM and Mai Sakurai who both had great months as well.
When we look at total team points for the month, the two-month dominance of “Outlet Wolfpack” finally ended with a new team taking that top spot, and like I mentioned before they went on to score the most points in a single month ever with 226! Who was this amazing team? It was none other than “Mad Dog Military” who stormed their way back up the rankings a bit by scoring 33 more points than the next best team. That next best team was the team who still holds first place in the league itself which is the “Outlet Wolfpack” who scored 193 points. “TCS 4 Life” rounded out the top three, scoring 189 points which is a really strong month for a team that had found itself in the middle of the pack for most of the season so far.
The lowest scoring team for the month was “Alex’s Warbitches” who only scored 143 points, yet that is the highest amount of points scored by a last place team for any month so far, so really not to bad of an output. In fact, when I take the average amount of points scored by all of the teams and get an average score per team, only three teams scored under that average score of 155 for this month, which is a good sign. Obviously, when you see the total scores of each of the teams you’ll see that some teams are more competitive than others at the moment, but at the same time, at least for this month, there wasn’t a team that was trailing way behind the others.
With all of that said though, let’s take a look at the current standings…
TEAM STANDINGS
Outlet Wolfpack – 914 Points (1st)
Mad Dog Military – 881 Points (3rd)
Oedo Tai – 867 Points (2nd)
The Icon & Friends – 805 Points (4th)
TCS 4 Life – 781 Points (5th)
Rebel X Run – 746 Points (6th)
Casa Royale – 720 Points (8th)
God’s Sigh – 702 Points (9th)
Alex’s Warbitches – 695 Points (7th)
Fart Editing – 654 Points (10th)
As you can see, once again the “Outlet Wolfpack” finds themselves in first place at the end of the month, and they even added to their lead a little bit with Oedo Tai not having as good of a month. Dylan’s “Mad Dog Military” had a fantastic month though which enabled them to move up into second place, and if they are able to string together another great month like this, they will be hot on the heels of the first place team. The “Outlet Wolfpack” has been by far the most consistent team in the league thus far which is why they are in the spot that they are in, and the mix that they have on their roster is one of the main reasons why.
As always, I tally up the most singles and tag wins each month by the awesome joshi wrestlers on the scene and this month we had a good mix of wrestlers from the bigger and smaller companies. Aja Kong was the proverbial king of the hill when it came to singles matches, winning six of them, though some would say she was stat padding a bit when beating Seigo Tachibana in three straight matches on the same show. Still though, it counts, and that’s all that matters. Kaori Yoneyama, Miyuki Takase, Mayumi Ozaki, and Miku Aono all scored four wins this month in singles matches, making them all tied for second place honors.
When it comes to tag team matches, one wrestlers scored more victories in that type of match than the rest, and that was none other than Saori Anou who scored nine victories in tag team matches in the month of May. Hazuki, Rina Yamashita, Koguma, Rea Seto, and Victoria Yuzuki all scored eight victories to tie for second place.
With June starting now, we’re moving our way into “joshi summer” where some of the best wrestling will take place during the next few months. We are also getting that much closer to tournament season for a lot of companies, which will no doubt affect the point standings quite a bit with so many singles matches taking place. The Catch The Wave tournament is going on now, and will continue through June which will help a lot of freelancers rack up some extra points as well. All in all, there’s a lot to look forward to as this year continues. Let’s take a closer look at the teams now one by one.

POSITION: 1st | TOTAL POINTS: 914 | MAY POINTS: 193
Pedro still finds himself in first place, and just like last month, his team is the first to hit a milestone point total, this time of 900! There’s quite a few teams who have wrestlers who have scored more than 100 points on the season, but yet his highest point scorer still hasn’t even scored 85 points. Throughout the line up though is a lot of good wrestlers who are all being booked pretty strongly so he can count on getting quite a few points throughout the line up each month.
Pedro had two wrestlers who tied for the top spot in points for the month with 23 which was Utami Hayashishita and Takumi Iroha, two of the best and most respected wrestlers on the scene. They also happen to be two wrestlers who often find themselves with championship gold, and this point in time is no different! Coming in second, scoring 22 points was Ancham, a good freelancer who doesn’t usually make waves, but can be counted on to give you quite a few points each month. Tomoka Inaba and Miku Aono both also scored above 20 points to round out the top five on the team this month.
Unfortunately Pedro’s first round pick Momo Watanabe was injured for the month, so she didn’t end up picking up any points, though with her already being announced for a show soon, it looks like that will turn around quickly. He also had a bit of a disappointing month from Mizuki and Miku Kanae who had been scoring quite a few points thus far in the year, but scored less than 10 for the month of May.
Right now, Pedro’s team only has three wrestlers who have scored under 50 points for the year, which is honestly pretty good in comparison to a lot of other teams. In my opinion, having wrestlers who score you at least 10 points a month, is pretty good, and as you can see Pedro picked a lot of them. Hopefully, his top performers will continue to lead the charge while the wrestlers on the low end pick up the pace to help further Pedro’s lead.

After having a few months of putting up good points, but not great points, the “Mad Dog Military” had a record month scoring 226 points. Not only was it good enough to get them closer to first place’s point total, but it also allowed them to jump over the team who had second place prior which was “Oedo Tai”. With such stars as Starlight Kid, AZM and Saori Anou all being booked strongly in STARDOM, there’s no doubt that Dylan’s team can keep this momentum going forward.
This month, Kaori Yoneyama had a record-tying performance when it comes to points scored in a month by scoring 39, but AZM wasn’t far behind in second place scoring 33 points respectively. Starlight Kid also had a very good month scoring 29 points which is good enough for sixth best in the league overall this month. With the total points scored by those three wrestlers already mentioned, you kind of expect them to put up quite a few points, but maybe a surprise for the team was Itsuki Aoki who scored 23 points this month, which is really good for the freelancer, and it was probably helped a little bit by her recently inclusion in STARDOM as a part of Mi Vida Loca.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, Dylan had two wrestlers who scored zero points this month who aren’t on Injured Reserve like Maya Yukihi is. Chikayo Nagashima was injured for the month, which explains her inclusion, but Hiragi Kurumi also didn’t score any points. It probably didn’t help that she also only wrestled two matches during the month of May, so maybe she was dealing with some nagging injuries as well. Mei Seira also had a pretty quiet month, only scoring seven points after having a strong start to the year.
The “Mad Dog Military” is still the only team to have three wrestlers go over 100 points this season, which is very impressive! Kaori Yoneyama has been terrific the entire season as she leads the entire league in points with 132 which is pretty insane considering how old Kaori Yoneyama, because normally you wouldn’t see wrestlers of her age being quite as active as she is. Sure, she does a lot of her wrestling on the comedic side, but she’s still taking bumps, so respect to her! The biggest thing that Dylan will need to have for the rest of the season is more consistency from the middle and bottom roster members, as that will be the secret to taking over first place.
CURRENT POINTS
Kaori Yoneyama – 132 Points (39)
Starlight Kid – 120 Points (29)

This month wasn’t the best for my team, however it also wasn’t a terrible month by any means. Sure, we moved back one position to third in the standings, but we still had the fourth best point output for the month, so I can’t complain too much. It was somewhat sad to have Tam Nakano retire because she had been scoring quite a few points for me up until that point, and even though she has said she’s retired, I don’t trust her enough to fully drop her from my roster, so now she’s sitting in the inactive / injured reserve spot until I need it for someone else.
My two best wrestlers points wise, Saya Kamitani and Rina Yamashita, led me again this month by tying for the lead at 22 points. It’s been nice having Kamitani as not only the World of Stardom champion, but also the Regina Di Wave champion, because it has enabled me to get those extra points for title defenses, and Rina Yamashita has been very active all around the Japanese wrestling scene. I also got a good month from Nanami Hatano along with Miyuki Takase who scored 18 and 17 points respectively.
When it comes to the lower end of the team I had seven wrestlers who scored under 10 points, which is more than I’d like to see, however getting someone like Kouki Amarei back after her injury should help going forward as long as she doesn’t reinjure herself. I’m still looking for more out of the likes of Arisu Endo, and Momoka Hanazono who I expect some big things from eventually this year. I also made the roster adjustment of dropping Yukina Uehara who is a good rookie, but hadn’t scored many points, for the newest rookie in Marigold, Shinno! I know she may not be working as many shows as some of the others because of school, when she’s around I think she’ll put up some good points.
So far this year, I have had two wrestlers eclipse the 100-point mark, Saya Kamitani and Rina Yamashita. Hazuki isn’t too far behind them with 92 points, but after that, there’s a bit of a drop to get to the rest of the members of the squad. Luckily, my team’s point scoring has been pretty consistent overall, so it’s kept me up in the thick of things, but with Tam moving on, I’ll need another wrestler or two to pick up the pace a bit to really allow the team to shoot up the rankings. I feel like I still have a pretty good mix when it comes to that various promotions my wrestlers work in, but over the next few months, I might have to make some tough decisions on a trade or two to jump start my team if I feel I’m falling behind too fast.
CURRENT POINTS
Saya Kamitani – 110 Points (22)
Rina Yamashita – 106 Points (22)

It was sort of business as usual for Scott and his team this month as once again they scored a good amount of points as a team, but not enough to really make up ground on the teams ahead of them. His first round pick Mayu Iwatani picked up her first championship in Marigold, which definitely helps the points, and there’s no doubt that she’ll be on the winning side on a lot of her matches in the new company, so I can see her being a big driving force for the team. A lot of his team consists of wrestlers from STARDOM and Marigold, so I think at times that has bit him in the butt a bit because having strong freelancers can net you quite a few points for winning and defending titles more often than some of the bigger companies. Still though, the team is on a good path, and might only be a trade away from getting a lot closer to third place.
It should be no surprise that the wrestler who led Scott’s team in the month of May was Marigold’s newest signing, the “Joshi Puroesu Icon” Mayu Iwatani who scored an impressive 26 points this month! Trailing behind her a little bit was his overall points leader Miyu Amasaki who scored 19 points, which is a good month, but not a great month. He also had four other wrestlers who scored 15 or more points this month, which is pretty good balance for the roster. All of those wrestlers are pretty much regulars in Marigold with Chanyota being the only one who isn’t officially signed with them, but commonly appearing there.
Scott had eight wrestlers who scored under 10 points this month, which is probably more than he’d like, especially with names like Hanan, Suzu Suzuki and Maki Itoh being three of them. There’s no doubt that all three of those wrestlers are due for a bit of a rebound at least. I’m sure Scott will also be excited when Xena finally comes back, because I have a feeling she’ll be hitting the ground running as soon as she returns and will be put into an important spot as the strongest booked wrestler left in ExV after Maika went on her injury hiatus.
Like I stated before, I can definitely see Mayu Iwatani taking the top spot soon on the team in overall points, but she still has a ways to go to catch Miyu Amasaki who has a total of 103 points so far. The young trio of Victoria Yuzuki, Hanan, and Seri Yamaoka have all had strong years so far scoring 75-plus points rounding out the top five on the team overall.
CURRENT POINTS
Miyu Amasaki – 103 Points (19)
Mayu Iwatani – 87 Points (26)
Victoria Yuzuki – 82 Points (16)
Hanan – 76 Points (8)
Seri Yamaoka – 75 Points (16)
Suzu Suzuki – 68 Points (9)

Dave and his team had another good month, this time being the third highest scoring team in the league, which helped the team get that much closer to “The Icon & Friends” in the standings. While it was a bit of a slow start to the year, a lot of the good freelance talent has taken over, and started scoring quite a few points for the team. Dave has even gotten some good points out of his two US-based wrestlers, Giulia and Mina Shirakawa, which is a bit of a surprise since you never know how they will be booked overseas in the big two companies.
Dave’s top wrestler this month was one of the two who tied for the record amount of points scored in a month with 39, Azusa Inaba which is one hell of a month for the young prodigy from JTO. Coming in second place was the ever so enigmatic VENY who scored 25 points, which was good enough for eighth best in the league overall. Cherry and Kakeru Sekiguchi were the other two wrestlers who scored 15 or more points this month, but even after that there were quite a few other wrestlers on the team who scored at least 10 or more points.
In the month of May, Dave only had four wrestlers who scored under 10 points, but unfortunately all four of them scored five or less, which is not the best, but I guess it’s better than nothing at all. Giulia had a rough month even with her recent call up to the main roster in WWE, as she only picked up two points this month. Dave probably would have also liked to get a few more points out of the current AWG champion Marino Saihara who also only scored two points.
Dave and his team have been slowly making their way up the standings by putting together good months in a row, and I can see them catching up to fourth place if they have another month like this one. Their leading point scorer overall is Kakeru Sekiguchi who has scored 92 points, but right behind her is Azusa Inaba with 90 points. From there it’s a bit of a drop off to third place which is VENY who has scored 71 points. It’s a good output, but I think there’s a lot more that this roster can do going forward.

Kakeru Sekiguchi – 92 Points (16)

Xavi had a very top-heavy month when it comes to points as he had three wrestlers in the top 10 overall points wise and two of those wrestlers were even top five, but the problem was that there was a pretty steep drop off after that. While I do think that Xavi has put together a good roster, the team just seems to struggle to put it all together as a group, meaning that most of the months have been middle of the road, which doesn’t help you make up ground on the teams ahead of you unfortunately.
Leading the way for “Rebel X Run” was SAKI who scored a whopping 37 points which was good enough for second best in the entire league, and a really impressive mark for the freelancing veteran. Right behind her is the current United National champion in Marigold, Mai Sakurai who scored an even 30 points, as she continues to be booked very strongly in the golden gardens. Makoto also had a very good month scoring 24 points which was good enough for tenth place in the league. If Xavi could get more secondary scoring behind those three, he would have had a hell of a month!
This month, Xavi had a total of 10 wrestlers who scored under 10 points, which is the reason why his team had a good, but not great total for the month. Part of the reason for that was the fact that Tsukina Umino and Hanako Nakamori are both currently injured, along with the injured reserve wrestler Mio Momono, which means none of them got any points at all. Still though, having the likes of Chihiro Hashimoto, Aya Sakura, and Yuna Manase all score so few points has to be a bit frustrating since they all should be scoring more than they are currently.
The three wrestlers who topped the charts this month for the team are also the top three for overall points on the team with both Mai Sakurai and SAKI eclipsing the 100 point mark, and Makoto only being two points behind that milestone. Misa Kagura has also been a strong wrestler for the team this year, but after that there’s quite a bit drop off to fifth place on the team. Getting more help from the lower roster members would really help this team make up some points, that’s for sure.
CURRENT POINTS
Mai Sakurai – 106 Points (30)
SAKI – 105 Points (37)
Makoto – 98 Points (24)
Misa Kagura – 81 Points (16)

Things were looking up for “Casa Royale“ in the month of May as the team scored the fifth best team points for the month, which allowed them to not only gain on a few of the teams ahead of them, but also move their way up to seventh place overall. “Casa Royale“ is still running into the issue of not having any wrestlers who are scoring at a very high pace, and instead a lot of their wrestlers are scoring in a more balanced way than anything which has lead to a lower point total than many of the teams. All hope is not lost though, as I do still think that this team can make a run towards the top, they just might need to make a trade and take a chance on it.
This month, Fernando only had one wrestler score above 20 points, which was Mei Suruga who kept pretty active, and defended her title helping her score 23 points in total. Sitting in second and third place on the team for the month was the STARDOM pair of Koguma and Natsupoi who both scored 16 points, which is respectable, but not all that great when they are tied for second on the team in points for the month. Hopefully, a talent like Natsupoi will get pushed a bit more now that she’s put injuries behind her, and in turn she could potentially score more points.
Part of what helped this team score a decent amount of points for the month without anyone scoring a ton was the fact that Fernando only had six wrestlers score under 10 points. I would say that having only six or less wrestlers scoring under 10 is normally the road to success for a lot of the top teams, so hopefully “Casa Royale” will be able to continue that success, and grow their team points month after month because of it. Iyo Sky had a bit of a quiet month, only scoring five points, but hopefully she’ll get more opportunities to wrestle and defend her title to help up those numbers a bit in the future.
Like I had mentioned before, there are no wrestlers on the roster who have scored an insane amount of points yet, but there are two wrestlers who are ahead of the pack a bit on their own team which is Koguma and Mei Suruga. Koguma has had a pretty good year, mostly winning tag team matches on her way to her 76 point total. Mei Suruga has also won her fair share of tag team matches, but she’s also won quite a few singles matches as well which had helped her get to 75 points. The next highest on the team is Miyu Yamashita who is always booked pretty strong in TJPW, but she’s spent quite a bit of time overseas this year so far, which means you never know how she’ll end up being booked.
CURRENT POINTS
Koguma – 76 Points (16)
Mei Suruga – 75 Points (23)

Even though Ryan’s team didn’t score the least amount of points for a team this month, they still would have liked to get more than they did. Unfortunately for Ryan, though, he no longer has Maika for the rest of the year most likely, and one of his other big point-getters, Chi Chi, was out the entire month. The plus side is that his number one draft pick Sareee has finally started to heat up a bit, which is something the team desperately needed. The team seems poised to have a big month eventually because of the great wrestlers on his roster, but they just haven’t quite put it all together as a team yet to make up a lot of ground on the teams above them.
Finally the leader in points for the team this month was the number one pick in the entire draft Sareee, who scored a very impressive 24 points. To put that in perspective, the 24 points that Sareee scored was more points than she had scored all year up until that point. Seeing her come alive points wise was nice to see, and hopefully this means that she’ll continue to rack up a lot of points going forward. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a gap between Sareee and the next highest scorer which was Syuri who only scored 15 points. Normally you want there to be at least five or six wrestlers above that 15 point threshold, so that’s what kept the points for the month down a bit.
Like I mentioned before, not having more of the team’s wrestlers above 15 points is definitely not a good sign, and the fact that there were eight wrestlers not counting Chi Chi who had under 10 points didn’t help as well. Ryo Mizunami was chosen quite early in the draft, so her only getting five points during the month was definitely not what Ryan had been looking for. He also hasn’t gotten a lot out of Rika Tatsumi yet this year, as a lot of the TJPW roster has underperformed in terms of points compared to the other two big companies of STARDOM and Marigold. Other than that, most of the roster members who were in that bunch are more so role players who could have a good month every now and then, but are probably expected to be towards the bottom in any given month. Hopefully, Ryan will be able to find a diamond in the rough to help improve his chances of moving up.
For the year so far, the wrestler leading the charge for the team is Shoko Nakajima who has enjoyed quite a bit of success thus far as not only the TJPW Princess tag team champion with her partner Hyper Misao, but also the MLW women’s champion. Her 78 points isn’t on the same level as some of the other top point scorers on other teams, but it’s nothing to be ashamed of either. Trailing behind her is Syuri and Ryo Mizunami who have had pretty good years, but could be better. Syuri’s 68 points is probably less than she should have at this point of the year, but with her winning the IWGP women’s championship at the end of April, it might be able to help catapult her point total up quite a bit. Ryo Mizunami is a great freelancer who you can count on when it comes to being a strong opponent against just about everyone, but since she’s a freelancer, you never know how much promotions will choose to use her. This month was a bit of a down period for her, but that doesn’t mean that next month couldn’t be a big month for her.

Unfortunately for Alex and their team, the “Warbitches” finished dead last in points scored for the month, which not only hurt their chances even more to move up the rankings, but also made them drop two spots down to ninth place for the season. It has to be a frustrating time for the team that was showing some promise over the past few months, but now finds themselves back towards the bottom of the proverbial barrel.
Leading the way in the month of may was none other than the long time veteran of PURE-J Leon who scored 23 which is quite good for a wrestler who normally doesn’t get to do a lot of matches per month, at least from what I’ve noticed. There was a tie for second place on the squad between three wrestlers: Manami Katsu ,Ayame Sasamura, and Yoshiko Hasegawa who all scored 17 points, which isn’t too far behind the leader on the team. Also, let’s give props to the legend Mayumi Ozaki who racked up 16 points.
On the bottom side of the table, there were nine wrestlers who scored under 10 points, which is definitely more than Alex would have liked but I think the likes of YuuRI, Hina, and Yuki Arai could all turn it around next month. A lot of the other wrestlers down towards the bottom are pretty regularly there or in the middle of the road for the team. Getting more secondary scoring from those team members could make a big difference for this team going forward.
The wrestler running away with the points lead on the team so far this year has been somewhat of an unexpected wrestler in Manami Katsu. We all know that Katsu is a great wrestler, but for her to be able to score 84 points at this point in time has to be more than even Alex expected going in. Sitting in second place for the year is DASH Chisako, who has kept herself quite busy thus far to start the year, with one of her specialties being winning singles match considering the fact that she leads the league in singles matches won with 14. Her 68 points overall could stand to be better, but unfortunately she hasn’t had the ability to pick up a championship yet this year, which is holding her back from being quite a bit higher points wise.

The month of May was one of sadness for Hart as he not only said goodbye to Meiko Satomura who retired towards the end of April, but also the wrestler who had been his most successful one this year Nanae Takahashi who retired towards the end of May. Obviously he did get to enjoy the good amount of points that Nanae had earned before she retired, but still, it leaves a large hole in his roster going forward that will be hard to fill. His team once again had a somewhat subpar month scoring wise as a whole with the team’s point total beating out only one other team, which makes it all the more difficult to try to make up that ground on the teams ahead.
During the month of May, the tag team of “Magenta” Maria and Riko Kawahata lead the way for Hart’s team with them both scoring 18 points a piece, however you’d probably like to get more out of your top scorer in a given month. There was then a three way tie for second place on the team with Risa Sera, Raku, and Nanae Takahashi who all scored 16 points respectively. Having five wrestlers who all scored above 15 points is honestly quite good, but not having a wrestler or two above 20 definitely hurt the total point total for Hart’s team overall.
Once again, Hart had quite a few wrestlers who found themselves scoring less than 10 points for the month which included two wrestlers who didn’t even score a single point in Bozilla and Yuka Sakazaki. Both Aoi and Kaya Toribami both find themselves down towards the bottom as well, but they were late pick-ups in the month when Hart finally dropped Meiko Satomura and then a few days later Nanae Takahashi. Unfortunately, it was another tough month for Hart’s first round pick in the draft as Miu Watanabe only scored four points during the entire month which is simply not enough for someone of her talent level.
To say this year has been a struggle is a bit of an understatement for Hart Editing as his team was slow to get going at the beginning of the year, and has struggled since then to make up ground on the teams ahead of them. Nanae Takahashi finished up with 90 points scored for the year, but now that she’s retired, that number isn’t going to go up anymore. Meiko Satomura pitched in 46 points before she eventually was dropped after her retirement as well. While Hart was able to get quite a few points out of those two legends, he now has to find wrestlers who will continue to get him a good amount of points, but considering the somewhat small pool of wrestlers who are available, it might be hard to find that kind of production that he’ll need. A trade might need to be made, but who will trade with him? That’s the question. Out of everyone left on the team now, the leader in points is Risa Sera with 71, and Raku sits in second place with 66.

FREE AGENTS
If we take a look at the wrestlers in the free agent pool this month, there was only one wrestler who scored more than 20 points, and that was none other than the legend Aja Kong! Her score of 22, was three points better than the second place wrestler Tank who is still active in her native country of the Netherlands. Even though her time in Japan wasn’t the most impressive, she’s been able to enjoy being booked strong in Europe which has allowed her to keep picking up quite a few points. Third place for the month in the free agents pool was Arisa Shinose who scored 17 points, which makes it two months in a row that she’s hit that number. It wouldn’t surprise me if one of the teams needing a bit of a jolt end up picking her up, because someone who can consistently get 15 plus points every month isn’t easy to find on the open market.
TOP 5 IN OVERALL POINTS (FREE AGENTS)
Tank – 54 Points (19)
Yappy – 48 Points (16)
Aja Kong – 45 Points (22)
Arisa Shinose – 45 Points (17)
Moka Miyamoto – 39 Points (9)
Sae – 39 Points (4)
Next month’s edition of the Fantasy League Update will be one that covers the official half way point of the year! It will be interesting to see where each team is sitting at that point in time. We’re also getting a lot closer to tournament season, meaning that some of the wrestlers in the bigger companies might start picking up a lot of singles match wins which will no doubt score them quite a few points. Having the right wrestlers for these tournament can really help turn your season around, so we’ll have to see how STARDOM, Marigold, and TJPW decides to book theirs. As fans, we’re in for some great joshi pro wrestling action, and that’s always something to look forward to!
