Miyu Yamashita is a well-known pro wrestler from the Japanese promotion Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling(東京女子プロレス). She is known by her nickname The Pink Striker; the nickname is a result of her devastating kicks that Yamashita is known for.
This amazing talent from Fukuoka debuted at TJPW on August 17th, 2013.
Miyu is easily recognized as one of the pillars of her promotion. She’s a pure badass famous for just kicking people’s heads off. To understand how special Miyu Yamashita is, here are some match recommendations that any new fan of TJPW should watch.
Match 1-The Beginning
Miyu Yamashita vs KANNA -The 2nd Meeting(25-03-2013)

Our first match recommendation is the battle between Miyu Yamashita and KANNA from TJPW’s 2nd meeting show at Shibuya Deseo from the 25th of March, 2013,where a very green Miyu Yamashita fought her first long-time rival in the promotion.
This match shows a very different side of TJPW and a Miyu Yamashita where she is pretty much a rookie. This is during the very early days of the promotion, where they used simple mats as their ring.
Although Miyu is very green in this match, and the match itself is not very long, she showed some early signs of the talent she would become.
Match 2-The First Crown-Miyu Yamashita vs Shoko Nakajima(4-1-2016)

For our second match recommendation, we fast forward to January 4th, 2016. The 4th of January is a very important date in the Japanese pro wrestling scene. During this time every Japanese promotion runs their Ittenyon and a new year of the promotion begins.
On 4th of January 2016, TJPW had the crowning of the first champion of the promotion.
After championship match qualifying matches were held, the first Princess of Princess championship match was set: Miyu Yamashita vs. Shoko Nakajima.
This match is a must-watch since it is a piece of TJPW history. The match was very good and the wrestlers involved two pillars of the promotion, where you can watch a more developed Miyu Yamashita leaving her rookie days and help TJPW enter a new era.
MATCH 3-History in the Making
Miyu Yamashita vs Saiki Reika-Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling 18(4-1-2018)

At the 2018 TJPW Ittenyon, Miyu Yamashita had a mission in mind.
That mission was making history at the TJPW show, Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling ’18 in Korakuen Hall after winning the Princess of Princess Championship two times. Miyu had been roadblocked from writing history in TJPW’s book by way of winning her third Princess of Princess championship.
This match is recommended to watch due to the intensity and history.
From the video package to the actual match, it was guaranteed to be a match for the ages.
Match 4- 121000000 Collide
Miyu Yamashita vs Maki Itoh -Wrestle Princess II(9-10-2021)
https://www.wrestle-universe.com/en/videos/35PdEcvR8HHoz7Xnu2etmt

At TJPW’s Wrestle Princess II on the 9th of October 2021, the stage was set, With Maki Itoh full of momentum after entering TJPW’s history book with her victory at the 8th edition of the annual Tokyo Princess Cup tournament.
Maki has been chasing her dream for years; the dream was titled “Happy Ending.”
These two weren’t new to facing each other for the promotion’s main prize and both Maki and Miyu were a team called 121000000. Every time Itoh had a chance of fighting for the Princess of Princess championship, she came up short, which built this desperate need of getting her “Happy Ending”.
But both Miyu and Maki faced each other for the main prize in 2019 where Itoh failed to capture the championship from Yamashita.
After two years, Maki was different. She massively improved her wrestling skills and became a better wrestler overall. Would Maki get her Happy Ending or would the story repeat once again and maki would fall short again in her chase of her happy ending?
Match 5–Ace vs MizuPyon
Miyu Yamashita vs Mizuki-Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling 22(4-1-2022)

Another year, another Ittenyon. It’s 2022. Miyu Yamashita is the champion for another year and is looking to prove why she is the Ace of TJPW.
At the 2022 iItenyon, Miyu and Mizuki faced each other in another high-profile match which was nothing new for these two amazing talents and for these two veterans of the promotion.
Mizuki is Yuka Sakazaki’s tag team partner. Their team is known as MagiRabbi. Yuka was Miyu’s biggest rival for a bunch of years. Every time Miyu and Yuka faced each other was a clash of two aces of the promotion.
Mizuki being Yuka’s partner added a lot of pressure. This match was not just another match for the the Princess of Princess Championship, this match was where Mizuki wanted to make her tag team partner proud, and she was chasing a championship she had yet to win at the time.
This match, of course, was simply amazing.
This is easily a must-watch match if you are new to TJPW, and is definitely worth of your time.
Match 6-The Future is Now
Miyu Yamashita vs Miu Watanabe-Grand Princess 24(31-03-2024)
https://www.wrestle-universe.com/en/videos/pvzdbdeLaQe2g6bZRTqik

We finally reached our final match recommendation of our Miyu Yamashita Starter Pack.
On the 31st of March 2024, TJPW was looking to build the new era of the promotion at Grand Princess 24.
Although Miyu was the champion of the promotion once again, she started being a less full-time wrestler of the promotion by showing her talent more and more outside of Japan and getting more exposure in the world.
TJPW was looking for a definitive champion to spread the promotion’s name to new heights.
Miu Watanabe being pointed to by many as the future ace of TJPW gave Miyu a lot of pressure to keep her crown as the ace of TJPW.
But there is another story to this match: both talents had massive momentum.
With Miyu Yamashita finally breaking her tournament curse by winning the Max Heart Tournament and Tokyo Princess Cup Tournament, everything looked bright for The Pink Striker.
But Miu Watanabe is someone to keep an eye on, being massively talented and hard working. Like Miyu, she is a full-time talent who had the promotion’s future pressure on her back.
Would the ace of TJPW be Miyu, who helped build the promotion since day one or would this be the turning of the page for a new era of TJPW with Miu standing victorious?.
